Yavapai Regional Medical Center BreastCare Center

Yavapai Regional Medical Center’s BreastCare Center is a 7,000 SF addition to an existing hospital that specializes in breast cancer screening and diagnostics. Architects were able to create a concept of a calming, spa-like environment consisting of screening and diagnostic modalities with spaces for community support and education. The floor plan was designed for staff and patient efficiency, following the path of the patient’s experience while visiting the facility. A respite garden resides in between buildings to give the patient and staff offices a view of the garden while maintaining privacy through low level windows. The educational library/conference room was designed with sliding 3-form doors to open the space to the lobby area seamlessly. This expanded the library space to allow for larger meetings, classes or workshops.
