Increasing Significant Capacity for Rural Hospital
Drew Memorial Health System Addition & Expansion
The expansion and renovation of Drew Memorial Health System, accomplished in part with USDA Rural Development funding, adds significant new capacity to a 40-year-old facility. The 51,000 SF addition, which broke ground in September 2016, includes a new Surgical Suite with four operating rooms and two C-Section suites. The new Labor/Delivery/Nursery wing aims to position DMH as a regional birthing leader for Drew County and the surrounding counties of southeastern Arkansas. A new Outpatient/Visiting Specialist clinic will provide expanded access to a variety of services not currently offered in the area. Renovation of the existing facility will provide an expanded laboratory in place of the vacated former Labor/Delivery suite.
