Orcutt | Winslow is honored to have designed beautiful and successful Skilled Nursing (SNF) communities across the nation. Each one is custom-designed to respond to the unique and varied needs of the community and residents that we serve. Our architectural philosophy promotes wellness, safety, individuality and joy. We have been advocates for the household model design for decades. Our design approach includes clustering small group of resident rooms around a communal area such as a great room, dining area, household kitchen and outdoor garden/courtyard. Skilled nursing residents require some of the highest levels of care among our Senior Living design portfolio. As such, we remain mindful and attentive to those unique needs that these residents require. Simultaneously, we are also focused on the demands and needs of the staff who care for our SNF residents. Providing soothing and nurturing spaces for staff to thrive and support the residents is key to provide the highest quality of care. Ensuring residents and staff have ample access to well-designed spaces, plentiful daylight and views along with connectivity to nature and the outdoors, is key in our design philosophy.

Rehabilitation

Many of our skilled nursing designs also include Rehabilitation programs, providing physical, occupational and speech activities to help residents regain their independence and maintain dignity, which is their most valuable trait. Orcutt | Winslow has successfully designed dozens our Rehabilitation projects across the country. Whether stand-alone, outpatient or integrated into our Skilled Nursing (SNF) communities, our attention to the detail and unique needs of these project types is always at the forefront of our designs. Each of our Rehab projects are designed to respond to the unique and varied needs of the community and residents that these facilities serve. Our architectural philosophy promotes safety, recovery, vibrancy, resilience and happiness.

Connectivity to nature is a key component of our Rehabilitation designs. Providing outdoor therapy gardens with varying walking surfaces, stairs, ramps and even cars to practice activities of daily living (ADL) is key to a successful operation. We focus on both the rehabilitation client as well as the staff who care for them. Providing well-lit, generously-sized spaces to allow for multiple rehabilitative programs to be done concurrently is another tenet of our designs, ensuring successful therapy programs can be done with dignity and satisfaction.
