Six Decades of Rich Diversity and Proud Heritage in Our Vibrant Community

Chandler Unified School District’s Galveston Elementary School serves one of the oldest communities located in old town Chandler. The school is over 60 years old and has a rich, vibrant and diverse community with a proud heritage. The once robust community of Galveston was subject to gradual gentrification over the years, and is facing declining enrollment to adjacent charter schools. Orcutt | Winslow was commissioned in late 2022 to engage and help re-imagine and design a multi-phased replacement school for Galveston that would serve to provide next generation learning personalized and individualized learning opportunities. Orcutt | Winslow’s task was to help the community re-imagine what their future would look like while not losing what brought them to that moment: a community-focused and community-driven school.
