The new Memory Care facility at Freedom Plaza in Peoria, AZ features the latest in design innovations for the daily life and care of seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia. This 14,000 SF building was designed with a sensitivity to the unique needs and lifestyle requirements of this user group. The design is based on the concept of a large house. It features a large open space in the center of the building which serves as the main living room and dining space for all the residents. The individual bedrooms surround this central living space which serves as the focus of the facility. Large exposed wood trusses with clearstory windows flood the living and dining areas with plenty of soft, diffuse light. In addition, a residential style “country kitchen” provides participants with the feeling of a home-cooked meal in an inviting and familiar setting. A beauty salon, laundry facility and conference space are also included as amenities for the residents daily use. Outside, a beautifully landscaped garden is available for the residents to enjoy. It features raised planting gardens, water features and a circular walking trail set within a natural setting evoking images of the local desert vegetation.

The new Assisted Living addition at Freedom Plaza in Peoria, AZ features the latest in senior living design innovations. This 13,500 SF building was designed with a sensitivity to the unique needs and lifestyle requirements of this user group. The design is comprised of two households that share two large living rooms that connect to a private landscaped courtyard. The living rooms serve as multi purpose rooms and accommodate a fireplace, the library, and country kitchen. They also boast high ceilings with multiple clerestories that provide ample day light. The courtyard feature raised planting gardens, water features and a circular walking trail set within a natural setting evoking images of the local desert vegetation. Different unit types serve various client needs and range from the small studio to the one and two bedroom apartments.
