McCarty on Monroe apartments is a newly constructed senior housing complex located within a transit-oriented district preserving public housing and creating additional affordable housing for seniors in our community. The structure is an 85,450 sq. ft. four-story building with two elevators, secured parking, administrative offices, common area amenities including a large community room with kitchen, a computer/activity room and an inner courtyard with walking and seating areas for senior residents. The sizeable 69 residential units are located on the second through fourth floors with private balconies, high ceilings, spacious kitchens and washer and dryer hook-ups.

This LEED design project is built to LEED Silver equivalent standards and includes: access to multiple public transportation routes, an onsite recycling program, pre-fabrication of most building components to reduce onsite construction waste, artificial turf and low water use plants/trees, sun shade canopies, rough-in for future solar water heater and rooftop photovoltaic panels, and low VOC finishes.
